Glasgow police release checkpoints for August

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department announced its checkpoints for the month of August on Thursday.

Checkpoints within city limits will be set up at Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road. The office says additional locations may be active.

Officers will be enforcing laws related to motor vehicle operation, including driving under the influence, seat belts and child restraints.

Glasgow police says the checkpoints are a valuable tool to promote safety within the community.
