Gov. Beshear orders flags to half-staff to honor correctional officer

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Andy Beshear has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff at all government buildings Thursday.

The order is to honor a Kentucky Department of Corrections officer who died last week.

Officer Hunter Scott Miller, age 24, of Danville, died after an incident while training for a special response team at the Northpoint Training Center.

A funeral will be held for Miller at 10 am at The Showroom in Danville on Thursday.

Gov. Beshear is encouraging all individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to participate.

Flags will be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
