Fraternal Order of Police hosts Shop with a Cop

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With back to school season in full swing, the Fraternal Order of Police in Bowling Green hosted their annual Shop with a Cop at Meijer.

This event allows for families in need to get the school supplies necessary for the upcoming year.

Each family gets a hundred dollars to spend on supplies, clothes or anything else they deem necessary… and this money is important for the FOP to provide.

“Everything’s really expensive these days, and the families need the help where they can… so that’s why it’s our honor to do something like this and help the kids out… because we want every kid to have that equal chance to feel like they’ve got what they need for school… a lot of kids are embarrassed… they don’t have the newest things and the right clothes… so anything we can do to help out, we take a chance,” Mike Nade, President of the Bowling Green FOP says.

Around 50 families were able to take part in this year’s Shop with a Cop, which has been going on for the past 15 years, dating back to when K-Mart was in town.

The FOP is honored to partner with Meijer to provide this opportunity to families.
