First responders rescue man from cave in Hart County

HART COUNTY, Ky. – Multiple agencies joined together Saturday to rescue a man from a Hart County cave.

According to Hart County Search and Rescue, Inc., it worked with the Linwood Volunteer Fire Department, Hart County Sheriff’s Department and Hart County Emergency Management to respond for a 19-year-old male that had not been seen since entering a cave.

Search and rescue says it received the call around 5:36 p.m., over two hours after the man went missing.

Search teams entered the cave and located the subject a few hours later uninjured, rescuers say.

Other agencies that assisted include the Kentucky State Police, Hart Coounty EMS, some local cavers, the TRACER team and the National Cave Rescue Commission.
