FRANKLIN, Ky. – The back-to-school season is here, and the Franklin police are hoping community members will help out as much as they can.

At the Franklin Police Department, they have coordinated with AARP to run a back-to-school drive where they are asking for donations such as backpacks, notebooks and tissues. Donations can be placed in the totes located at the front of the lobby.

This is FPD’s first back to school drive.

When asked about how long the department has been holding the community service event, Franklin Police Department chief Roger Solomon said, “We’ve never had one before, with our old department we probably couldn’t even fit these totes in our lobby but now that we have the facilities we want to help as much as possible.”
