Man charged with possession of fentanyl after traffic stop in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A man is facing multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in Allen County on Monday.

According to a uniform citation, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop around 6:27 p.m. on a Ford F-150 on Old Gallatin Road for a tail light that was out.

Police say they asked the driver, identified as David Fishburn, 59, to step out of the vehicle after presenting a canceled insurance card.

Upon a search of Fishburn, police say they located multiple clear bags of suspected methamphetamine residue. Police also searched the vehicle, where they say they found a large amount of suspected methamphetamine multiple fentanyl patches and marijuana.

Fishburn was arrested and transported to the Allen County Detention Center.

Fishburn  is charged with no tail lamps, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, first offense, possession of marijuana, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, second or greater offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
