Local law enforcement come together for joint operation
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – To address issues that every department is facing such as speeding, wearing seatbelts, impaired, distracted and reckless driving, multiple agencies are coming together to find a fix.
The Kentucky State Police, Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Western Kentucky University Police Department are all dealing with the same problems and are therefore going to coordinate efforts to launch larger patrol efforts. Kentucky State Police officials are currently working on organizing times and dates.
Trooper Katan Parker, the Public Information Officer for Post 3 of KSP told News 40 that he has seen his fair share of driving hazards after working the interstate as well as BGPD’s PIO, Ronnie Ward. Ward said in pulling over cars when on patrol, many people would tell him they simply weren’t paying attention when he stopped them from speeding.
The joint operation is an effort to make Bowling Green and Warren County safer for pedestrians and motorists alike, Trooper Parker said to expect higher police visibility in the coming months.
