Volunteer training being held by Hosparus Health Barren River

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Hosparus Health Barren River is calling for dedicated individuals to donate their time and talent to support local patients and families facing serious illnesses across Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson and Warren counties.
The nonprofit organization is hosting a free, in-person training for new volunteers on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 101 Riverwood Ave. Ste B, in Bowling Green.
“Our volunteers play a vital role in delivering compassionate care to those in need,” said Volunteer Manager Tiffany Hinton. “This summer, we are excited to welcome new volunteers who are ready to make a significant impact in the lives of our patients and their families.”
According to a release by the nonprofit, volunteer opportunities with Hosparus Health include offering companionship to patients, providing respite for caregivers, supporting grief services or veteran initiatives and even sharing a love of reading, music or crafting. Additionally, volunteers can contribute to the organization behind the scenes with administrative assistance, writing letters and cards, making deliveries and serving on committees.
If you are interested in volunteering, you may apply at hosparushealth.org/volunteers before the training.
Those unable to attend this month are encouraged to apply now and register for a later session.
New volunteer training is scheduled at our Bowling Green office on Sept. 11 and Nov. 4. While COVID-19 vaccination is no longer mandatory, certain health requirements and documentation may still be necessary for all volunteers before starting.
