Americans expected to spend slightly less on food this Fourth of July
(CNN) – You may be spending slightly less on your Fourth of July cookouts and picnics this year.
According to the National Retail Federation Survey, Americans are expected to spend $9.4 billion on Independence Day food items for 2024.
This survey found that 87% of consumers plan to celebrate the fourth. Of those celebrating, they are expected to spend an average of just over $90 per person on food items.
That’s down $3 from last year.
On top of all of the food spending, the survey said around 30% of those celebrating plan to buy additional patriotic items.
