Guide: Fourth of July fireworks events in South Central Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – News 40 has your local guide to fireworks shows this summer. Below we have a list of events coming up across south-central Kentucky throughout June, July and August.

Warren County 

Thunderfest: Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Bowling Green, the 53rd Thunderfest will take place at Ephram White Park at 885 Mt. Olivet Road in Bowling Green starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 29.

Hot Rods Fourth of July Spectacular: Fourth of July Spectacular, presented by Jewelry Barn & Pawn with post-game fireworks at Bowling Green Ballpark on Thursday, July 4. The first pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.

Allen County

Fireworks in the Park: In partnership with the T.J. Health Scottsville Clinic and City of Scottsville, Fireworks in the Park us taking place Friday, June 28 at Dugas Community Park at 336 North Bedelia St. Food trucks and vendors will be available starting at 5:30 p.m., while pre-fireworks entertainment with Funk N’ Blues will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Admission is $5/car and pedestrians are free. Entry will be from the events gate on Dumont Hill Street.

Barren County

Fireworks Extravaganza: Thursday, July 4 at dark at Barren River State Park.

Cave City Fireworks Show: Wednesday, July 3 at dark at Cave Area Conference Center. Pre-show festivities begin at 6 p.m., including food trucks and music.

Butler County 

Green River Catfish Festival: Thursday, July 4 at 4 p.m. at Butler County Fairgrounds.

Edmonson County 

Big Brownsville Bash: Saturday, Aug. 17 at Dark (Reschedule Date) Highway 70 Ballpark.

Hart County 

Bonnieville Homecoming: Thursday, July 4. Parade at 10 a.m., silent auction at City Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., cake walk at City Hall at noon, karaoke on the show porch from noon to 3 p.m., pet show in front of K&D Thrift at 1 p.m., duck race at Bacon Creek at 2 p.m., scavenger hunt from 3 to 5 p.m., live music at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and fireworks at dark.

Jason Gedda Memorial Fireworks Celebration: Saturday, July 6 at 9 p.m. at Horse Cave KOA Holiday.

Logan County 

Lewisburg Fireworks: Thursday, July 4 at dark in Lewisburg.

Russellville Party at the Park: Saturday, June 29 at 6 p.m. in Russellville City Park.

Red, White and Boom: Friday, July 5 at 1400 Nashville St.

Metcalfe County 

4th of July Celebration: Friday, June 29 at 6 p.m. in Boling Park.

Simpson County 

Independence Day Parade: Thursday, July 4 at 10 a.m. in downtown Franklin. All retired and active duty veterans are invited to ride as grand marshals.

Free Fireworks Show: Tuesday, July 2 30 minutes after sunset at The Mint Gaming Hall.
