Warren County Sheriff’s Office raises awareness of 988 hotline for those in distress

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s there if you or someone you care for needs it – the 988 hotline is there to serve those in crisis.

988 is a national hotline that you can call or text at any time to talk to a mental health professional if you find yourself in a less than desirable place. 988 is a number you can reach out to to speak to someone and maybe be connected to a different mental health resource.

988 is manned 24/7, and mental health organizations as well as law enforcement encourage everyone to keep 988 at the top of mind.

News 40 spoke to Warren County sheriff Brett Hightower, who advocates for the use of 988 whenever an individual or individual’s family or friends think it might be necessary.
