Med Center EMS provides tips to combat incoming heat
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- With the large possibility of heat coming in the next few days, the potential of heat-related illnesses will increase.
There are a few steps that you can take to limit the amount of heat-related illness for you and your family. This includes staying hydrated and limiting your time in the sun.
Remaining prepared for the heat will increase your health, and it will also increase the likelihood that you will enjoy your summer no matter what the temperature is.
Casey McCoy, a paramedic with Medical Center EMS, tells us how common heat-related illnesses are.
He says, “Once the temperature gets up there and people are generally working outside and even sometimes it gets so warm outside, they don’t have to be doing much of any kind of activity outside to have a heat or some kind of environmental emergency so very common.”
The last thing anyone wants to do is end up in the hospital this summer due to extreme heat, so stay proactive and prepare for the upcoming weather.
