Bowling Green sees massive boost to help Kentucky tourism
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Thursday, Governor Andy Beshear announced the economic impact of Kentucky’s tourism industry, and Warren County was a huge help in bringing $13.8 billion to the Commonwealth.
A release from the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau says Bowling Green contributed $39.3 million in state and local tax revenue, which is a nearly 8% increase from last year’s record.
The Visitors Bureau says that Bowling Green is number 5 in the state, which is amazing to see for a community like Bowling Green.
“Of course, there are multiple other cities and counties that participate in making the state of Kentucky look so good, including Louisville and Lexington. But Warren County actually accounted for 3.6% of that total number from the state, which is awesome if you think about how much goes into state tourism and all the activities across the state. 3.6% is a pretty significant number,” Lauren Guess, Communications Director for Visit BGKY says.
