Deputies respond to multi-vehicle collision in Logan County

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Logan County deputies responded Tuesday for an multi-vehicle injury collision.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the area of the Logan County Career and Technical Center at 2400 Bowling Green Road in Russellville, Kentucky.

According to deputies, the driver of a maroon F-150 pulling a 16-foot mowing trailer saw a slow-moving vehicle westbound near the emergency lane and moved to the left lane.

Deputies say the driver of a loaded grain tractor-trailer struck the back of the mowing trailer, which pushed it into the back of the F-150 and broke it off.

The loose trailer then struck a vehicle that was in the median and attempting to turn left to head back toward Auburn, Kentucky.

After impact with the mowing trailer, deputies say the tractor-trailer entered and crossed the median and hit an eastbound passenger car head on.

The driver of the tractor-trailer and the passenger car were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, deputies say.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by by Logan County EMS, the Russellville Police Department, the Kentucky State Highway Department and the Russellville Rural Fire Department.
