Kentucky State Police participating in ‘International Roadcheck’ campaign

The Kentucky State Police is taking extra efforts this week to ensure drivers of commercial vehicles are following the law.

KSP is participating in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance annual International Roadcheck enforcement program from May 14-16, according to troopers.

During this time, law enforcement in the U.S., Canada and Mexico is monitoring to ensure commercial motor vehicles and drivers comply with regulations.

Troopers will check driver’s operating credentials, hours-of-service documentation, seat belt usage and alcohol and/or drug impairment during the inspection. If an inspector discovers driver-related out-of-service conditions, a driver will be placed out of service.

A vehicle that successfully passes a Level I or V Inspection without any critical vehicle inspection item violations may receive a CVSA decal, which is valid for three months, according to authorities.
