BRACAC honors community partners

BOWLING GREEN , Ky.- A few people in the Barren River Area were honored for the work they do everyday. The Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center held their annual honors award, highlighting people from across the barren river region who go out of their way to display a heart full of compassion and diligence for those who face neglect, abuse or any other unfortunate circumstance.

Leah Thompson, the Executive Director at the Child Advocacy Center shares how difficult it is for these dedicated workers. She says, “This work is very hard. It’s hard on a good day, and the things that, you know, these professionals see and hear and watch every single day takes a toll.”

From the county attorney’s office to law enforcement agencies, schools and many other people were recognized. These are the honorees:

The Excellence Award for Compassion honors a member of the Barren River Area Multidisciplinary Team who has demonstrated exceptional compassion to children and their families.

Recipients: Jennifer Woods, Allen County DCBS Investigator and Jason Richerson, Detective Franklin Police Department

 

The Excellence Award for Teamwork honors a member of the Barren River Area Multidisciplinary Team whose performance demonstrates commitment to exceptional professionalism and team collaboration.

Recipients: Laura Casey, Detective Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Josh Belcher, Assistant Superintendent Butler County Schools

 

The Excellence Award for Diligence honors a member of the Barren River Area Multidisciplinary Team who has demonstrated exceptional diligence in seeking justice for children and their families.

Recipients: Abigail Starks, Barren County DCBS Investigator and Tanyce Claypool, Warren County DCBS Investigative Supervisor

 

The Community Advocate Award honors a member of the Barren River Area Multidisciplinary Team who holds the title of advocate. This person can be an advocate with law enforcement, prosecution, or other community partners who demonstrates exceptional commitment to the safety and well-being of children.

Recipients: Makayla Nash, Victim Advocate, 7th Judicial Circuit

 

The Volunteer of the Year Award honors a volunteer who has made invaluable contributions toward the center’s mission.

Recipient: Chas Goshorn
