Prim and Brim prepares for Kentucky Derby weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local shop is helping people get ready for the Kentucky Derby without having to travel up I-65.

Prim and Brim gives you a taste of the Derby fashion while staying in Bowling Green.

From hats to bow ties to purses and everything in between, they are getting everyone prepped for Derby day.

“When I moved back here to Bowling Green about ten years ago, the first thing I asked is, where’s the Derby store? and there wasn’t one. So I said, ‘Well, we’re going to have to do something about that.’ I just decided I started with about 12 hats and we have just grown every year. It’s just nice to be able to offer something here in our community so the women don’t have to travel up 65 to try to find just the appropriate headpiece,” owner Kathleen Overton says.

Aside from the horse race itself, the derby fashion is always a fun part of the weekend.

Prim & Brim is open until Friday at 6 PM for you to pick out your Derby outfits.
