Fuel pumps destroyed, man injured after fire at Hiseville Parts City Auto Parts

HISEVILLE, Ky. – A vehicle fire at Parts City Auto Parts in Hiseville, Kentucky on Sunday has injured one person.
In a statement provided by Hiseville Volunteer Fire Department chief Dusty Phillips, the department states a 1966 Chevy C10 pickup truck “caught fire while attempting to refuel” at the store.
The HVFD and Cave City Fire Department extinguished the fire.
Fire officials say the fire destroyed the vehicle and two fuel pumps, however, the building was not damaged.
The driver of the vehicle, Jimmy Waters of Knob Lick, Kentucky, was taken by personal means to T.J. Samson Community Hospital before being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The fire department says Waters is being treated for burns he sustained from trying to extinguish the fire.
No other injuries were reported.
The auto parts store will remain open for business, while fuel sales will be halted until the fuel pumps are replaced.
