O-I Glass hosts ‘topping-off’ for new facility in Bowling Green

PERRYSBURG, Ohio and BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – O-I Glass, Inc. is celebrating a milestone in the construction of its glass packaging production facility in Bowling Green.

On Thursday, April 25, the company hosted a “Topping-Off” event to commemorate the placement of the final beam.

O-I Glass, Inc. is one of the leading global producers of Sustainable glass packaging.

Global O-I executives attended the event, including chief executive officer Andres Lopez, vice president and chief technology officer Ludovic Valette, plant employees and construction workers, according to a release by O-I Glass, Inc.

The company says it plans to invest up to $240 million in multiple expansion waves for this plant, creating up to 140 new jobs in the region.

The release states O-I Glass expects to “set new standards in many aspects of glass manufacturing,” including plant structure, working models and sustainability.

O-I Glass first broke ground in Bowling Green on April 14, 2023.
