Police respond to bicycle vs. vehicle collision

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police responded Thursday for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Veterans Memorial Lane and Church Avenue.
Just before 3:30 p.m., a vehicle turning left from Veterans Memorial Lane onto Church Avenue collided with a bicyclist, according to Bowling Green Police Department public information officer Ronnie Ward.
Ward confirmed a pickup truck driven by an adult male was traveling away from town while the bicycle on the sidewalk was heading toward town in the opposite direction.
Police say the vehicle then collided with the bicycle in the crosswalk of Church Avenue.
Identities have not been released at this time.
The bicyclist was flown to a Nashville hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Police say Veterans Memorial will be down to one lane, while Church Avenue at the intersection is closed for an undetermined amount of time.
