Bridge project to cause long-term closure in Edmonson County

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – A project to replace a bridge over Whetstone Creek in Edmonson County is expected to create a long-term closure beginning later this week.

Transportation officials say KY 187 Sunfish Road will close at Whetstone Creek at mile point 2.2 on Thursday, April 18.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 says the new bridge on Kentucky 70 will open before closing the bridge on Kentucky 187.

Motorists should expect detours using Kentucky 70, Kentucky 238 and Kentucky 185. Please plan for extra travel for your commute.

The closure is expected to last 60 days.
