Big Local Fest happening in downtown Bowling Green this Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Big Local Fest is hitting the streets of Bowling Green on Saturday at 11 a.m.

This weekend, you can enjoy live music, browse crafts and try local food and beverages from food trucks. One trailblazer is being recognized at the event and honored for his service to the city.

At 1 p.m. in Circus Square Park, captain Herb McKinney will be honored for his bravery in opening doors for others to follow their dreams.

McKinney was the first Black firefighter, sergeant, EMT and captain within the Bowling Green Fire Department.

On April 13, you can come see McKinney be recognized by local and state leaders.
