Task force agents, deputies conduct drug busts in Logan County

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Three people are facing drug trafficking charges after investigations in Logan County.

According to a release by the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force, on Tuesday, agents worked with the Logan County Sheriff’s Department to conduct two searches in Logan County.

Authorities say during a search at the residence of Timothy Anderson, 59, on the 700 block of Lewisburg Edwards Road in Russellville, Kentucky, they located crystal meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and several types of pills, along with a large amount of cash.

A separate search on the 100 block of Mulberry Street in Lewisburg, Kentucky resulted in the discovery of a large quantity of crystal meth and items pertaining to trafficking crystal meth at the residence, authorities say.

Melvin T. Wright, 47, and Christopher Walls, 27, were both arrested.

Anderson is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, first offense (between 8 ounces and 5 pounds) and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wright is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Walls is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (more than 2 grams of methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigations are ongoing.
