KSP responds to injury collision on I-65 in Hart County

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – The northbound lane of Interstate 65 in Hart County has reopened after an injury collision Wednesday morning, authorities say.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Jose Gonzales of Munfordville, Kentucky was operating a 2017 Ford Fusion near the 67 mile marker of northbound I-65 when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into the inside barrier wall.

Gonzales then traveled across all three lanes of the interstate, authorities say.

At this time, Gonzales’ vehicle was hit by a 2024 International commercial vehicle being operated by Shawn Wentworth of Mt. Washington, Kentucky.

Gonzales was transported by Hart County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital with unknown injuries.

The northbound lane of I-65 was closed several hours. The investigation is ongoing.
