Civil Air Patrol calculating data from The Hive in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The solar eclipse impacted so many students. One particular group of students got the opportunity to collect data that will be used for hundreds of years.

More than 40,000 members of the Civil Air Patrol collected data while partnering with The Hive in Bowling Green to give everyone a chance to see the solar eclipse.

Major Janet Bryant, the Bowling Green senior squadron commander, tells us, “This is the last one we’re going to have for, I think, about 20 more years, so some of us might not be around when the next one falls around. We have got together with the hive, which is a kind of clubhouse of young adults that have special needs, and we want them to be able to experience things, too, just like everybody else.”

This partnership gave cadets from seven different times, and young adults the chance to gain more knowledge and a view of the world that most won’t see.
