Man indicted in murder of inmate at Allen County Detention Center

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A man has been indicted after the murder of an inmate at the Allen County Detention Center, authorities say.

The Kentucky State Police says on January 17, Robert Tomes,35, assaulted Levi Parrish, 40, a fellow inmate at the jail.

Parrish was transported by EMS to The Bowling Green Medical Center, where troopers say Parrish later died on January 26.

On March 27, the investigation was presented to a grand jury in Allen County, which returned the indictment against Tomes for one count of murder and one count of first-degree persistent felony offender.
