UPDATE: No injuries reported after fire at Valor Oil
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Businesses and a nearby school evacuated Wednesday after a fire broke out outside of downtown Bowling Green.
Bowling Green Fire Department units responded Wednesday afternoon to Valor Oil at 407 Raven Ave., according to BGFD public information officer Katie McKee.
St. Joseph’s Interparochial School confirmed it also evacuated.
Two Valor Oil employees were evaluated on scene and refused transportation, McKee stated.
Crews were still working to contain the fire as of 5:28 p.m., which was under control by 6:25 p.m. according to McKee. McKee says the BGFD hazmat crew worked on containing the fuel runoff as a result of the fire.
Crews will remain on the scene to monitor for any possible rekindling, according to McKee.
The origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
