Community Easter Egg Hunt brings joy to local children
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Fifty thousand eggs are now in the hands of hundreds of happy children after an egg hunt took over South Warren High School’s football field.
The Community Easter Egg Hunt kicked off the spring season for the 17th year.
Kids scrambled onto the field grouped by age to collect the eggs that were filled with candy and toys.
Eight bicycles were given away, and one lucky adult got a $200 Visa gift card.
However, the focus of this event went to making sure every child had the time of their life.
“It’s a really good time for them,” Nichole Buckman, children’s pastor at Woodburn Baptist Church, says. “They do get prizes and thingsl ike that in the Easter eggs, but even with playing the games and getting balloons and seeing the Easter bunny, they get lots of encouragement, so hopefully it’s really lifting them up.”
Balloons, inflatables, games, crafts and Chaney’s ice cream also made for an unforgettable event.
Of course, the Easter bunny was on the scene for photographs, and the best part? All of this fun was 100% free.
