Fish kill in Black Lick Creek

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – During a recent sample gathering, the Department of Fish & Wildlife found dead fish in Auburn’s Black Lick Creek.

The fish kill occurred in around half a mile stretch of the waterway, caused by an unknown source. Right now the Creek is all clear for harmful chemicals but there is spring that enters the creek further down which could have diluted the “slug” of toxic substances.

News 40 spoke to Eric Cummins with the department, who said to be mindful of anything we pour down the drains or outside.
