A sweet little shop in Morgantown
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – From humble beginnings came a storefront that a family helps run together with tons of community support.
It started as just a way for Ann Burden to raise money to join her church on a trip to Israel, just baking cheesecake out of her home. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to go in 2021 because of COVID, 2022 was a bust as well and now 2023 has been derailed due to war conflict, but she still hopes to go in 2025.
Even though it hasn’t happened yet, Ann told News 40 she feels that God has placed her family right where they need to be. The community has rallied behind the shop, ordering cheesecake and just coming in to powwow. It’s become a real hot spot for Morgantown.
The family has a strong faith and tries to exercise it through their business. They have a prayer basket for people to write down requests for prayer as well as a “giving jar” where tip money is donated to individuals or organizations every month.
My Mother’s Daughter Cheesecake will have had a storefront for 2 years this summer with no signs of business slowing down. You can check out their Facebook page for all kinds of pictures, menu changes and hours of operations.
