Tree Week Walk spreading knowledge and appreciation for trees
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- It is Tree Week, and members of the Bowling Green community are doing what they can to emphasize the value of trees.
BikeWalkBG is one of many groups in the community hosting an event for Tree Week. The Tree Week Walk celebrates the trees and appreciates a very important part of our ecosystem.
We learned from Rowan Brown, a member of the BikeWalkBG, that this will include a tree tour, where you can learn about trees native to Bowling Green and the crucial role trees have in the world like providing oxygen and homes for animals.
Rowan says, “If we were to suddenly snap a finger and there would be no more trees tomorrow, I think our whole ecosystem would collapse. They are important in every sphere of the environment.”
The Tree Week walk is happening at 2:30 p.m. this Saturday at Weldon Peete Park.
Go bg Transit is also offering transportation to the park. For more information on the Tree Week Walk, visit the BikeWalkBG Facebook page. \\
