Goodbye Cumberland Trace! Warren County Schools tears down old elementary

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s bittersweet to see memories fade, but time moves on and so must we.

The old Cumberland Trace Elementary School is being torn down right now, and in its place will be a new leadership and innovation building to prepare students in the way of college and career readiness.

Warren County Public Schools district’s chief financial officer Chris McIntyre told News 40 this is something they’ve been working on for the past 18 months.

McIntyre said they’ve conducted research in different districts in the country and consulted with business leaders in the area to plan for preparing kids to enter the real world after high school and told media as well as everyone else in the community for the groundbreaking of the new building on Oct. 16 at 5:30 p.m. for more information.

The CFO also made mention that if anyone out there is feeling nostalgic, many old varsity jackets, old pictures and other memorabilia are at the new elementary school for the public to enjoy.
