Escaped Hart County inmate arrested after walking away from work release

HART COUNTY, Ky. – A Hart County inmate who escaped in July has been located and is back in custody.

Hart County Jailer Israel Bergenson has confirmed authorities found inmate John English, 41, of Bowling Green in early August. Jail records show English was booked at the Warren County Detention Center on Aug. 9.

On the afternoon of July 8, English escaped when authorities say he walked away from a work release.

English was held at the Hart County Jail on offenses of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and persistent felony offender.

Bergenson says a separate inmate, Jason Cotton, escaped Monday and is still at large.
