An Adairville man has been charged with manslaughter in the case of a woman’s overdose death.

A release states the case stems from Feb. 16, when South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force agents were called to assist with the investigation into an overdose.

The victim was found unresponsive and taken to a hospital, where she later died, officials say.

As a result of the investigation, the drug task force says it determined Michael D. Lalone,, 41, of Adairville gave a small amount of suspected fentanyl to the victim shortly before the overdose occurred.

Lalone was arrested and faces charges of second-degree manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives).
