WCSO responds to collision on Cemetery Road; multiple injured

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three people are injured following a two-vehicle collision on the 4100 block of Cemetery Road on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified of the collision around 9:30 p.m.

After an initial accident reconstruction, police say they learned the first vehicle operator was traveling toward Bowling Green. The first operator then crossed into the opposite lane, crashing into the second vehicle head on, police say.

The first operator was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, and both the operator and passenger of the second vehicle were flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Authorities say the first operator was impaired and that the WCSO will seek charges through the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

WCSO sheriff Brett Hightower says all three individuals have significant injuries.

Hightower says both lanes of the 4100 block of Cemetery Road will be closed Wednesday, April 12 from noon to 1 pm. for accident analysis.

The WCSO was assisted on scene by the Bowling Green Fire Department, Alvaton Volunteer Fire Department, Bowling Green Police Department and Medical Center EMS.
