UPS, Louisville relief groups send aid to Turkey

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Communities all over Kentucky are extending a helping hand out to Turkey after the devastating earthquakes.
UPS flew over 100 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Turkey this week.
It comes after the country and Syria were devastated by earthquakes. So far, over 41,000 people have died.
The 747 flight was charted by The UPS Foundation and departed Worldport in Louisville.
Multiple humanitarian relief partners, including Good360, Convoy of Hope and Americares contributed to the shipment, as well as several Louisville-based nonprofits, such as SOS International, Waterstep, Love the Hungry and BackPack4Kids.
Goods on board include clothing, blankets, food, medical supplies, water purification equipment, tents and tarps.
