Norton Children’s Hospital delivers nearly 11,000 Valentine’s Day cards to patients

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hundreds of children at Norton Children’s Hospital are feeling the love on Valentine’s Day.

This morning, the hospital says staff delivered 10,600 valentine’s cards and 1,705 stuffed animals to patients at Norton Children’s Hospital, Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Norton Children’s Medical Center and Novak Center for Children’s Health.

Norton Children’s Hospital spent the last three weeks asking the community to send online cards. As a result, patients received deliveries with smiles, giggles and warm hugs.

The gifted stuffed animals are purchases from SendAFriend, and 10% of the purchases will honor American Heart Month by going to the Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation to support patients at Norton Children’s Heart Institute.

This year’s donations showed a great effort, surpassing 8,000 online cards and 1,500 stuffed animals last year.
