The Consumer Product Safety Commission is accusing a maker of baby strollers of making inaccurate statements about the safety of its products.

On Thursday, CPSC warned consumers about the dangers of Sit N’ Stand double and ultra strollers made by Baby Trend after the asphyxiation death of a 14-month-old by the double stroller.

In a statement Friday, Baby Trend said its strollers were “completely safe when used as intended,” but the CPSC pushed back, saying some models can cause life-threatening injuries.

If you have concerns, go to saferproducts.gov or call Baby Trend toll-free at 800-328-7363 Monday through Friday to learn more.
