Messages of hate litter West Virginia community

(WTOV) Residents of Moundsville, West Virginia are both upset and scared after hate-filled messages were littered throughout the streets.

Sealed inside clear, plastic bags with birdseed, the messages turned up on several streets in Moundsville. One of the hardest hit was 10th Street, where at least three bags were recovered by police.

“I was pretty shocked,” said Steve Clemens. “I mean, I know we got some bad people around here, but I didn’t think it was at that level.”

Clemens found the hate speech messages associated with the Klu Klux Klan outside of his home around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

At least seven of the bags containing the racist and anti-Semitic hate speech were located and recovered by the Moundsville Police Department.
