Bowling Green proclamation declares ‘211 Day’
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Judge Executive Doug Gorman and Bowling Green City Mayor Todd Alcott issued a proclamation a day early for National 211 Day.
The official proclamation declared Feb. 11 as “211 Day” in Bowling Green. United Way of Southern Kentucky says the proclamation aims to raise awareness about 211 services for the local community.
The services are available to community members in the 10-county BRADD region.
The 211 phone number serves the purpose of providing quick and easy access to information about health and human services. They may also provide support in crisis situations.
In real time, callers can provide information on utilities, housing, food, transportation, clothing or household items, support services for an aging parent, where to find help for addiction, mental health issues and much more.
The center is able to take calls and text messages 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
