Western Kentucky University will also observe Veterans’ Day Friday. The school will start the morning off with a wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a.m.

AMVETS Post 130 Commander Gerald Mounce said Veterans Day, “is just a good time to get together, have fun, and tell some old war stories… If we’re not at war a lot of times people forget about us. So, we do stuff like this, keep the community active, and we all do volunteer work for the community, too. It helps to know we’ve done a job and people appreciate what we did.”
