BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is hiring for dispatchers in local and nearby counties.

Currently, KSP says there is a total of 46 full-time dispatch positions at 13 posts, including Post 3.

KSP Post 3 serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties.

Telecommunicators are front-line essential law enforcement personnel who answer the call to provide assistance and assurance to both citizens and law enforcement officers when someone calls 911.

KSP is seeking applicants with at least a completed high school education that possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task, handle stressful situations, handle flexible schedules and learn and adapt, especially in technology.

The starting salary for KSP telecommunicators ranges from $27,733 to $33,559 annually based on experience. In addition, hires will receive a $5,500 training stipend following successful completion of the telecommunications academy.

New hires will undergo four-weeks and 160 hours of training at the KSP academy in Frankfort.
