Two arrested after police pursuit ends in Adair County
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department has arrested two people on drug related charges after a vehicle pursuit.
On Thursday, Aug. 18, authorities stated an officer observed a vehicle on Park Avenue speeding and driving recklessly through a neighborhood. The officer attempted to complete a traffic stop, however, the vehicle refused to stop and traveled down New Salem Road before turning onto Beaver Creek Road and coming to an abrupt stop, according to authorities.
GPD stated the driver, later identified as Brandon Shaw, 40, of Park City, then reversed the vehicle and began to drive at an officer at a high rate of speed, attempting to strike the police cruiser. Shaw failed to hit the vehicle and sped off again, driving into Metcalfe County and entering the Louie B Nunn Parkway traveling eastbound. According to authorities, Kentucky State Police troopers were able to successfully deploy spike stripes on the suspect’s vehicle tires, and the vehicle stopped soon after in Adair County.
Authorities stated officers confirmed that Shaw did not have a valid operator’s license, was non-complaint with the sex offender registry list and had active warrants.
Officers searched the vehicle and discovered a syringe and methamphetamine inside the vehicle, according to authorities.
Shaw was arrested and charged with speeding 26 mph or greater than the speed limit, reckless driving, first-degree assault of a police officer (attempt)(two counts), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer (eight counts), first-degree wanton endangerment, failure of a non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, first offense, no operators-moped license, failure to comply with sex offender registration (second or greater offense), fleeing or evading police, first degree (motor vehicle), disregarding a stop sign (two counts), failure to or improper signal (two counts), failure to give right of way to an emergency vehicle, failure to give an oncoming vehicle half of the highway, first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, first offense (aggravating circumstances), possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine) and failure to appear (two counts bench warrants).
Pamela M. Stinnett, 50, of Glasgow was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, first degree, third or greater offense (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle prohibited.
