The Center for Courageous kids gets a new tree house

SCOTTSVILLE Ky.- The Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville seeks to provide a fun experience for children with serious illnesses.  Thanks to a new addition at the facility, doing just that has become even easier.

A tree house, called the adventure lodge, is part of the Center for Courageous Kids tree house camping program. This is the first expansion to the CCK facility in eleven years.

A ribbon cutting was held today at the facility to celebrate the grand opening of the new expansion.

The adventure lodge will give the campers a chance to experience camp high in the trees as they roam through the fully accessible house.

CCK director of communications and special events, Sarah Keltner, said she’s exited to have this new expansion to the facility.

“Were just all so excited to have this amazing tree house, and it’s going to benefit our campers so much. They’ll get to enjoy different programs that we create right here in nature, and in this tree house that a lot of thought and a lot of love has gone into the vision of this,” Keltner said.

Some activities the adventure lodge will be used for include nature walks, music therapy, and art therapy.
