Two car events greenlight BG tourism; NCM & Beech Bend Raceway Park flooded

Professional Drag Racers Association Championship & Michelin NCM Bash

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Car lovers are rolling into Bowling Green, racing to two huge events.

First, the 2022 Michelin National Corvette Museum Bash kicks off the NCM onsite event season.

Senior Media and Marketing Specialist Mariah Hughes said, “We have about 1.500 registrants on site from both here in Kentucky, surrounding states and international visitors joining the museum for the week. We’re really excited to have them here. It’s such a great blessing for them to explore Bowling Green and all its great offerings.”

And over at Beech Bend Raceway Park, the Professional Drag Racers Association championship is here in Bowling Green for the second year in a row.

200 cars are already on the ground before the race kicks off.

PDRA Series Director Tyler Crossnoe said, “When we debuted the schedule and everybody saw we were coming back, everybody was excited. We’re glad to be back here in Bowling Green… I bracket raced here when I was small, so for me it’s a homecoming.”

Sisters and junior racers Myla & McKenna Mcadow were watching eagerly from the seats.

“This has been very fun so far,” said McKenna.
Her little sister Myla added, “It’s very fun to see all the cars.”

The City of Bowling Green is going all out to welcome its spectators from near and far.

Downtown BGKY Development Coordinator Telia Butler said, “We have all kinds of other things for them to do while they’re here, and we just love that they spend so much time in Bowling Green and dedicate this weekend to Bowling Green every year… That’s why we created the downtown parking map and the Downtown Fountain Square Shop and Dine Guide to give them more ideas of what to do while they’re here exploring Bowling Green.”

To all our car loving guests, thanks for checking out Bowling Green, and we hope you stick around.
