Bowling Green Hot Rods help raise pet adoption awareness
BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Dogs in the animal shelter waiting for their new homes still need plenty of exercise, and thanks to the Bowling Green Hot Rods, they got just that.
Today at Kereiakes park, the Bowling Green Humane Society teamed up with the Bowling Green Hot Rods baseball team to not only give the dogs some fresh air, but also to raise adoption awareness.
The Hot Rods took the dogs for a walk, introducing them to those enjoying the park. This gave families a chance to meet these dogs outside of the shelter, and to see their personalities shine as they were having fun being out.
Bowling Green Hot Rods Shortstop Shane McClanahan said giving the dogs a chance to be themselves outside of the shelter is a great way to raise adoption awareness.
“Dogs are like us. They need exercise. If you’re confined all day to a cage, you’re going to go crazy. Seeing what these dogs really are out here is really who they are, just a bunch of fun loving good ol’ creatures,” McClanahan said.
