Two arrested after welfare check

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A man and woman were arrested April 12 after an officer responded to a welfare check on two people passed out in a vehicle, according to Cave City Police Department.
On Tuesday, April 12, an officer responded to a Dairy Queen in Cave City for a welfare check on two people who appeared to be passed out in a vehicle.
Crystall Crone, 49, and James Owens, 34, were identified. The police department stated the officer located some pills in baggies in the vehicle, which Owens claimed to be his. The pills were later identified as Alprazolam and Amphetamine.
Owens was placed under arrest and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third offense or more, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug unspecified, illegal possession of a legendary drug and a prescription controlled substance not in the proper container.
Crone had six active warrants for her arrest.
Both Owens and Crone were lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
