8 indicted in alleged organized contraband scheme involving Todd County inmates

ELKTON, Ky. – Multiple individuals across several counties were criminally indicted earlier this month after allegedly participating in an organized criminal syndicate providing contraband to inmates.
According to the City of Elkton Police Department, eight individuals received criminal indictments on Aug.5 by a Todd County Grand Jury following an eight-month investigation into an organized crime syndicate introducing contraband to inmates at the Todd County Detention Center.
EPD says incarcerated inmates and individuals outside the detention center participated in the criminal operation, and more indictments and arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
