69 inmates, 5 deputies test positive for COVID19 at Hart County Jail
MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – The Hart County Jail has seen an outbreak of COVID positive inmates, although a large percentage are asymptomatic, according to the Jailer.
Last week, a few inmates started feeling sick and received positive tests.
As a precaution, Hart County Jailer Israel Bergenson decided to have the whole jail tested for the virus.
When results came back, 69 inmates and five deputies tested positive.
Since the test results, the Jailer has had the inmates with COVID isolated from the inmates without the virus and will continue to test the negative group.
The second set of test results for the negative group is expected to come in on Thursday.
