51st Annual BG Thunderfest coming this Saturday
National Corvette Museum Amphitheater
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – BG Thunderfest is only days away, and after lying low during the pandemic, the Kiwanis Club has gone all out for the event’s 51st Anniversary.
BG Thunderfest 2022 Chair Whitney Kinslow said, “We are so excited for everyone to really kick off their Independence Day Weekend. We don’t think you’re going to see a show like this anywhere around here.”
So, what all is there to look forward to this Saturday at the National Corvette Museum Amphitheater?
Saturday’s music line up features Trevor Martin, Bad Navigator & Tyrone Dunn & Kin-Foke.
Also, The Kid Zone is back for the first time since 2019 at no additional cost.
“Kids are gonna have a blast out there this year,” exclaimed Kinslow. “We’re gonna have two different obstacle courses that are set up… One of them is a true obstacle course for some of the older kids. The other inflatable is more bouncy house-style.”
And for older kids…
“The ARMY is going to be out there, and they’re setting up a virtual trailer,” announced Kinslow. “It’s going to have some video game type things that I think a lot of teens might be interested in.”
For those of you itching to see a huge firework show, keep in mind that there is currently a burn ban in Warren County However, the BG Thunderfest will have all you want to see plus more!
Bowling Green Fire Department’s Katie McKee said, “The best thing you can do is leave the explosions up to the professionals right now. One way you can do that is to go to BG Thunderfest. That’s a [good] way to celebrate the holiday and stay safe.”
Kinslow added, “This is something that is going to be a safe, family friendly event, and it’s going to be something unlike anything else you’ll see this weekend!”
BG Thunderfest charges $25 per car starting at 5:00pm. All proceeds going toward over 30 nonprofits benefiting our kids and community programs.
For the first year, you can pay at the gate with cash OR card.
